POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Commercial Truck Driving Instructor

Job Description: Seeking instructors to teach day or evening classes. Individual will be responsible for training students in any and all of the following: Visual Search, Communication, Speed Management, Space Management, Engine Controls, Primary and Secondary Vehicle Controls, Vehicle Instruments, Moving and Stopping a CMV, Proper Up and Down Shifting, Backing, Turning, Parking, Coupling, Uncoupling, Driver’s Daily Log and Monthly Recap, Vehicle Inspection, and the SAFE operation of a CMV on all types of highways.

Hours: Day: 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday; Evenings: 5:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Degree Requirements: High School diploma or GED minimum

Licenses/Certifications Required: Must have a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) , a current DOT physical card, and no serious moving violations (serious as defined by DOT) in the last three years on the motor vehicle report (7-year report required). CDL, DOT physical card and 7 year MVR copies are required in the application packet.

Skills Required: Experience as a driver trainer is a plus.

Additional Information: Must have 5-years Over-the-Road (OTR) driving experience with at least two of the years recent.

Benefits Eligibility: This position is eligible for membership in Georgia Defined Contribution Program only.

Salary Information: Actual salary is based on the candidate’s highest qualifying degree and number of contact teaching hours. Range per hour is $15 to $20.
